EU expects Ukraine to progress in the fight against selective justice

The European Union saw a few of Ukraine initiated processes aimed at fulfilling the expectations of the EU and hopes for tangible progress in the fight against selective justice. This was during a meeting with the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov said in Brussels the European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Fule, the press service of the EU Delegation in Ukraine.

"We saw a couple of Ukraine initiated processes aimed at implementing the EU's expectations and their own obligations of the Government of Ukraine, and we look forward to substantial progress in a number of areas, in particular - in the fight against selective justice, in making the electoral code and the reform of the judicial system. Our common goal is to improve the business and investment climate in Ukraine, in order to fully take advantage of the planned economic integration of Ukraine into the EU ", - said Fule.

The meeting also discussed the priorities related to the promotion of the key issues on the agenda EU-Ukraine relations, with a particular focus on the macroeconomic situation in Ukraine. "We stressed the importance of the government played a leading role in informing the Ukrainian public about the benefits of the Association Agreement provides citizens: we also noted the readiness of the European Union to contribute to the process of informing," - said Fule.

Discussing specific economic issues, he stressed the need to overcome key problems in bilateral cooperation, including those related to the management of public finances, which remain the main cause of the current revision of the program of budgetary support in Ukraine by the EU.
