Euro strengthened slightly against the dollar after the Fed meeting  

Euro strengthened slightly against the U.S. dollar on Thursday on the outcome of the Fed meeting, reports Bloomberg.

The euro against the U.S. dollar rose to 9:05 MSK to $ 1.2945 from $ 1.2933 to close the market on Wednesday.

Federal Reserve (Fed) after a meeting on 19-20 March confirmed volumes redemption of government bonds and mortgage-backed securities, saying maintaining the downside risks. The Central Bank will continue to buy US Treasuries rate of $ 45 billion a month, mortgage bonds - $ 40 billion a month.
The Fed also announced a target range of preserving the interest rate on federal loan funds (federal funds rate) of zero to 0.25% per annum.

U.S. central bank decision coincided with the expectations of the vast majority of economists surveyed leading U.S. agencies.

The American Central Bank lowered its forecast for economic growth and inflation for this year and an estimate of GDP for the next two years, but slightly improved forecasts of unemployment in the hope that the announced measures will help faster recovery of employment.

"The Fed did not change its position - said currency analyst at Westpac Institutional Bank Richard Franulovich. - Changes in assumptions were only cosmetic, but I found interesting the fact that the unemployment rate forecast has been lowered."

Estimated the Fed, unemployment in the United States to the IV quarter of this year will be 7,3-7,5% in December, the figure projected at 7,4-7,7%.

Attention of the market on Thursday sent to the press conference of the new head of the Bank of Japan Haruhiko Kuroda, who is expected to announce new measures to stimulate the economy.

U.S. dollar to the Japanese currency fell during trading to 95.75 yen against 96.01 yen yesterday. The euro / yen traded at 102.93 yen, compared with 124.17 yen on Wednesday.
