Rules of the road have changed

Cabinet of Ministers, at its meeting February 11, 2013 adopted amendments to the rules of the road.

These changes include a number of innovations: the introduction of new terms, compulsory for vehicles with the dipped headlights during daylight hours, etc.

The decision takes into account the provisions of the Convention on Road Traffic and standards in force in this field in the Member States of the European Union. This, above all, the increasing demand for the use of technical means of traffic control, the introduction of European models of road signs and road markings, as well as the introduction of new terms - such as "lawn", "raft", "daytime running lights", "maneuvering "," regulator "," improved coverage".

Also, the decision is aimed at reducing the risk of accidents on country roads. Thus, the traffic rules are supplemented with the rule that in the period from October 1 to May 1, vehicles must move outside of the village in the daytime with the daytime running lights or dipped beam.
