Since January 1, 2013 came into effect the Law of Ukraine "On Public Associations"
From January 1, 2013 lost force the Law of Ukraine "On Public Associations" and enacted a new Law of Ukraine "On public associations". The law offers innovations that should facilitate not only the registration of the public association, but its activities.
One of the fundamentally important innovations of the Law is the free choice of the territory, unlike the old version of the law. The new law provides for improvement and for the average citizen. After all, the law eliminated the rule that allowed a public organization to protect the interests of its members exclusively. Now NGOs can assist every citizen.
The new law also significantly reduces the time the registration and repealing the state fee for registration of associations and amendments to the charter.
Also, the law stipulates that NGOs with legal status may engage in business activities within the organization's goals. But at the same time, social organization with legal status are not economic society and its main goal is not profit.
Note that the executive authorities under the new law will not be entitled to check the composition of associations.
