Ukraine proposes to introduce the National Coordinators in the field of combating human trafficking in all European countries

Ukraine proposes to introduce the institution of the OSCE National Coordinators in the field of combating human trafficking. The Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Natalie King during a joint press conference in "Artek" OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier and Minister of Foreign Affairs, acting head of the OSCE Leonid Kozhara. According to her, in 2011, Ministry of Social Policy is as the National Coordinator in Ukraine, and this year chairing the OSCE proposes to introduce the practice in other countries.

"This practice, we propose to extend in all European countries. Ukraine proposes to introduce OSCE coordinator of the National Institute of trafficking in human beings its regional representatives. The relevant paragraph is provided in the annex to the Plan of Action against Trafficking in Human Beings, which was developed with the participation of specialists from the Ministry of Social Policy "- she said.

Also, according to the minister, this Annex is provided to prioritize public funding and support for programs of assistance to the victims of exploitation and trafficking. It is also proposed at the state level, provide for the establishment of a special compensation fund.

"Another one of our proposal for the establishment of a state compensation fund for compensation of victims in the event of such damage can not be compensated by criminals, regardless of legal status or national origin. We have already taken a step in this direction in the Ukraine. On the initiative of the Ministry of Social Policy, with this year's victims of human trafficking in our country receive adequate state aid ", - she said.

Natalie King has expressed confidence that the Ministry of Social Policy initiatives will be supported by the OSCE, which will together effectively with the challenges that arise for the entire European community.
