Because of the new duties on imported cars auto importers sued the Ministry of Economy

Car importers have filed a lawsuit against the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine due to the imposition of duties on the import of foreign cars. Cars with an engine capacity of 1 liter to 2.2 liters from April 13 will impose a new tax - up to 13% of their value. The government says it wants to protect native plants, particularly those that collect imported cars.

Meanwhile in the capital showrooms hype. Buyers were more than ever before - people are afraid of possible price increases, says TSN. In that case, say a car salesman, it will be worse all: drivers, because the lay out too much, and car shows, because sales will fall.

"If we do not reverse this decision, the cars can rise in price including VAT of about 15.6%," - said the director of auto importers association Oleg Nazarenko. According to the Ministry of Economy, higher prices of imported cars will encourage European manufacturers to open plants in the Ukraine. Importers themselves explain that it will not be because of the low volume of sales.
